Looking forward...

to a very exciting year! Every time someone says "Oh, you're teaching MIDDLE school," I am further convinced that this is the right place for me. I love a challenge and I look forward to meeting my students and inspiring them to embrace learning. I remember well what it was like in middle school: so concerned with being cool and figuring out who the heck I was!

The new teacher training was great. I received a lot of helpful information and good ideas to help me prepare. I am glad to know that there are many of us first year teachers out there and that it is okay and expected that I will make mistakes. I tend towards being a perfectionist so this is something I will keep reminding myself. I'll just keep on keepin' on.

I'm very impressed with the technology available to teachers in this district. However, it's a little overwhelming as I am unfamiliar with many of the programs available. I look forward to more training and am so glad that the tech department is ready and willing to provide it.

Well, as you can imagine there is TONS to do to get ready. Until next time....
